We dined in for Valentine's Day and thank the Lord we got there early 5:30pm as we just beat the rush. The place is really cute almost feels like you're in a crab trap. We had the garlic seasoning and asked for the creole on the side. What a mistake! The creole dipping was so flavorful wished I would've had the boil soaked in that flavor. Both were really good anyway but the boil is so hot that the gloves were melting and the fish was overcooked but it was delicious. Our poor waitress should've had on skates. She was running from table to bar to table to bar so there was a bit of a lag but she did check on us and definitely tried her best to manage the crowd. I would absolutely go back.
I was so happy to find the twisted crab in East Brunswick, NJ! I have visited the Richmond location before and this one was just as good. I built my own combo with a 1 lb shrimp no head, 1/4 lb crab; 8 scallops, boiled eggs, and selected the twisted crab mild sauce which added a perfect blend of flavor and spices! You have to add on the boiled egg to your boil, you will not be disappointed! The scallops which were large and cooked perfectly. Because I did my own add ons I got 3 corns! The only sad part was the crab was a bit over cooked, the meat didn't just slide out of the shell, I had to dig it out, and the plastic fork was not a good tool for that. So I was glad I didn't get a pound. Service great with Levan our server and drinks were perfect. We left completely pleased with the flavors. I think a utensil and plating can be improved. I did not like having to eat out of the bag. A metal tray or bowl to pour your meal into to avoid oil on your sleeves would be nice. They do give you an apron and gloves. Overall, just slight experience things. But the flavors supercede the hiccups. When you go to bed thinking about your meal... you know it was a tastebud win!
Wonderfully fresh seafood and great service! We had a 1/3 lb shrimp and 1/2 lb clams done plain plain with butter and garlic dipping sauce on the side and it was great. Class were so tender. We will be back soon and often!
It so reasonably priced. Love the fried oysters and the Catfish. Buy a $ 100.00 gift and get $ 120.00. Good deal.
EAST BRUNSWICK: have you heard? Brunswick Square mall is dog friendly as long as your dog is on a leash and well-behaved. There are also restaurants on the property and we are excited to share that The Twisted Crab - Brunswick Square Mall allows dogs at their outdoor patio. Located right in front on the Route 18 side of the mall, The Twisted Crab is a seafood restaurant and bar open through lunch and dinner. Check out their menu full of a variety of seafood options including fried baskets, wings, and a full bar. The patio is a really nice size with bar seating and plenty of tables. Brie had fun joining her parents for a drink and chatting with the bartender. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 2pm-7pm and Sunday all-day with drink specials.
